I own an N framed S&W 625 which I really enjoy. However, my hand fits a K frame much better. I believe I read some time ago about a gunsmithing modification that is done to give an N frame the trigger reach of the K frame. I can't find the article.

Does anyone have a link to gunsmiths who do such work ?

I've had your same problem all my life and except for the suggestion Geno made, I've never been able to get around it. I actually cut down my own stocks and it worked out very well to redude a lot of the problem but you are never going to solve all of it that way because of the physical distance between the rear of the grip frame and the front of the trigger. Many times I've wished I could do what you suggest but if anyone is doing that kind of work, I have never heard of it.

Good luck. I think you are gonna need it.

k frame exactly, but you could come close, by cutting on the frame. A narrow trigger helps, as do the stocks being modified, of course. A truly skilled smith could of course cut off your N frame's butt, and Tig Weld on a K Frame, but you are talking over $1000. Why not just get an L frame? those can be modified to .44 special or 41 mag, and hot loaded. Better yet, a 1911 can be rechambered to 460 Rowland. In the same 9.5" gun as a 4" barreled N frame, the 1911 can use a 6" barrel, and it will then get 230 grs to 1400 fps. The 4" .44, with factory 240 grs, is doing great to crack 1300 fps, and many barely crack 1200 fps, with all but the hottest ammo.
