I always wanted a 1911. I love the 45 and the Ruger 1911 seems like a good value.

Now, if Ruger would only chamber a Commander in .38 Super.
The Kimber has a very "High" return for repair history. Our local gun store is large. They sell hundreds of handguns and hunting rifles each year. The Kimber has a 47% return rate for repairs. The buyers are often critical of the Kimber Warranty.

No Smoky I have not. I am only passing on what I have seen locally.

You make a very valid point Smoky. I expect many first time handgun buyers expect their weapons to run without maintenance or care. The 1911 platforms are very forgiving but do need "flushing out", occasionally.

What you want is feed-back? And when you don't get the response you want? I know you will take your toys and leave the "Sandbox". This forum is for adults act like one. We do not all drink from the same cup on this venue.
