i've read that you gentlemen are shooting all kinds of reloads.

sorry if i sound naive, but i was wondering if all mini's have one load(bullet, brass, powder, primer) they like indiviually, or will they do well with various loads.

for instance, mine seems to like the 63 gr sierra sp with 23 gr blc-2. is that the only load that would be accurate by my mini, or is there a combination for each bullet size that would do just as well?

My Mini likes the 55 gr. with 24.9 gr. of h335, cci mag primer and Winchester brass. I am new to reloading and have stumbled upon something that I like. I want to try a heavier bullet but my minigb has a 1 in 10" and from what I have read 69 gr. is about the end of scale for me as far as bullet stability. If anyone has a 1 in 10 barrel and has shot the heavier, 60+ gr succsessfully I would like to hear of your results. 69 is probably as heavy as I need to go. Please let me know.

Swordslinger,

i already wrote this in my other thread, but i have a 1 in 10 and got some really good results with 68 gr hornady hp bt match, 23.5 gr h335, cci primers, remington brass.

i believe i'm gonna try your load in my mini soon as i can get some bullets. i'd like a load that travels fast enough to get some good fragmentation. what brand and config were you using?

mtnwatcher, just to show how each mini is different. I shoot the same bullet you do, but I couldn't get decent groups with the blc-2. I get best groups with 22 grn of RL-7, Federal 205M primers, and LC brass. Bullets seated to 2.650" Yields 1.1" average groups @ 3000fps.

Anyone trying this load, for safety, drop powder to 20 grn, and work up to pressure, then down for best accuracy.

mtnwatcher,
Sorry it took so long to get back to ya, I did not catch your question the first time. I use a Nosler 55gr balistic tip boat tail. My best group measured.217 center to center, next best .571. But the weapon consistantly shoots around 1 moa at 100yds. I have tried the Nosler soft point boat tail with similar results just not as consistant. I think its the violent trip the round takes from the mag to the chamber. It deformes the nose a little, and you just dont get that with the balistic tip. I also like the CT Balistic SilverTip which is made by Nosler and Winchester. I think there is a very slight difference in the design, but I cant tell it. The Nosler BTBT is cheaper and has an orange tip. The load mentioned with the balistic tip shoots very well in the ar I just built but the soft points do not shoot well at all. I suppose the lugs deform it even more than the mini. :sniper:
