I've read a number of posts on installing fore and aft recoil bushings but I am just a little confused.
This is an older, 183 series.
The fore bushing slips over the gas pipe piston... I do get that.
But in regards to the rear bushing, I can't tell from the pics if the bushing goes between the receiver and the guide rod, or between the guide rod and the spring? I'm assuming the former, but you know what happens when you assume!!!

Slip the buffer over the end of the guide rod, not onto the spring. Here's a (blurry...) pic of my 580, yours should look about the same:

Buffer right up against the receiver.

Thanks a bunch... I had actually come across that exact pic and couldn't tell for sure. That's exactly what I needed. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Much appreciated.
