I hope what I'm about to suggest isn't too illegal......

I was looking at the Recoil buffers and was thinking that we could get all of us together on a little project.
How difficult is it to determine what material is best used for these, and how hard are they to make???

Perhaps a simple diagram and instructions would be useful for those of us who think the design or price of those now offered is not to our liking?????

Whataya think???

You can make one out of 1/8" neopreme rubber. I had one, but installed it on the hot end of the slide rod around the gas piston. I really worked well, and quieted my mini, but after 500 rds the heat cracked the rubber. ( the gas piston really gets hot ). I will get some more, and this time install it on the cool side of the slide rod.
I used the gas bushings to reduce recoil of the bolt slamming into the receiver which really helped, but the buffer will quiet it some more.
