Rear Sight Adjustment

I have a mini 181 model, blue, purchased in 1979 -- adjustment of the rear sight for windage requires the sight to be moved almost to right edge of the receiver. The gun shoots to the left with the sight centered. Is this normal for such a large adjustment? I also have a 181, in stainless, purchased in 1982 and the rear sight for windage is centered on the receiver to hit point of aim. Just curious.

I didn't understand either. I have two mini 14s -- with the stainless mini 14 the rear sight is centered on the receiver, and with the blue one the rear sight is set to the right as stated above. I do not see how a rear sight can be adjusted in any way to have it centered on the receiver -- the only adjustment is windage, making the sight a little to the right on the receiver.
Thanks, R6721 and everyone for responded to my question. My mini 14 barrel and receiver is then perfectly alligned. The front of the rear sight is perfectly flush with the receiver. Thanks.
