Save your $5. The one I had was made of plastic and was too large to fit in the sight channel. I had to jam it in. Ended up throwing it in the garbage. Spend $20 for the AO metallic sight.

Try http://www.ashleyoutdoors.com/ . It doesn't look like you can order the front and rear sights separately from XS. Maybe you can try Brownell's. I know you can order the standard MINI-14 XS aperture separately from Brownell's because I did it but I don't know about the ranch sights.

The Eagle sight is tight. That's great with me. I just used a dremal with very light cratex and took just a little bit off. It's still tight, no wiggle, but once I got it sighted dead on at 25 yards, it NEVER MOVES.

You see, with a .223 carbine, I am not worried about adjusting the sight for different ammo. Since I shoot with the apendature sights, then once I have set them up, they are set up! I don't want them moving. Plus I just drilled a little larger hole for the sight and man, it is just right.

Cajungeo,

i have a standard mini, so i am hoping to find something similar to the rear aperature sights on a m1am-14. thats why i was interested in the ramline sight.

Deaf Smith,

are you refering to the front or rear sights? i got the eagle fromt sight. do they make a rear sight? i've never seen one.

Find my post with report on XS GhostRing. I love it but it's a battle sight, not a target apperture.

mtnwatcher,

Yes, Eagle makes a rear apendature 'L' that replaces the Mini-14s, the military model not the ranch. You might have to shave some polymer off the 'L' to get it to fit easly into the grove, but yes it works very well for me. I use it in conjunction with a M16/M1 style flash hider Bushmaster sells (front sight looks like a M1 Garand and the flash hider is the size of the M16s.) I have the flashhider on a 15 inch barrel (add the flash hider and it's a 16.25 inch barrel!) The flash hider is pinned and welded per ATF rules.

The Eagle is rock solid (sometimes maybe to rock solid) and the gun is setup to be about 2 inches high at 100 yards. Shoots dead on at 200 and like the post about hitting 200 yard targets, it's no problem to hit all 'K' zone hits from the prone.

Oh, the Eagle sight I drilled the peep just a bit larger. Not ghost ring size, but just somewhat more than the stock one.

I've got one. It's a nice sight with a small aperature. Made out of plastic though. Got one in a v notch too.

Why doesn't Ramline have a website with pictures?
