You can ship a Long gun to them without having an FFL through the mail. You will need to have an FFL ship if it is a Handgun going through the Mail. You can ship a handgun via UPS or FedEx if you do not have an FFL. Make sure you have a copy of the FFL that it is being shipped to before shipping.

USPS Says
"Unloaded rifles and shotguns may be mailed if the mailer fully complies
with the Gun Control Act of 1968 (Public Law 90-618) and 18 U.S.C.
921. The mailer may be required to establish, by opening the parcel or
by written certification, that the gun is unloaded and not excluded from
mailing because of the restrictions in 431.2b and c."

WHAT!? I just shipped my mini to colorado for work!
So I called and they said I could ship it to a "manufacturer" for repair or adjustment. I told them that's not what the website says - she said they's be sure to look into it:confused:

Most of the dealers I've talked to won't accept anything not shipped by another dealer. They say it's simply to cover their ass. Rather be safe than sorry I guess.
