Finally got to the range yesterday to try the new 10rd Promag and new 30rd Ruger mag in my Mini. First round from the Promag had to be bolt assisted to close on each mag full. Afterwards mag ran OK each time. Mag was very tight to get to lock in rifle but that got better with time. Ruger was 100% reliable. No problems with it.

Tom, one thing I've noticed, not all mags of the same capacity are the same height. My PMI mags are 3/8" taller than the USA mags. For a shorter mag to cram 20 rds, in it, it has to compress even more to get it to latch with the bolt closed, not enough room in the bottom for the spring. I just leave a couple rds. out of my mags. They work fine for me. Otherwise I have the same problem you described.

I agree as far as the Promag I will only load 9. I probably won't use it much as I have some PMI and Ruger mags. I posted knowing that some of the Kali guys were interested in the 10rd Promag due to the recent unpleasantness there in regard to 10rd+ mags.
