I just left gunbroker. Mini 30's going for $1300 - $1400 NIB (Auction not done) Mini 14's up to $1100 NIB and less than 100 total available in both models. The ship is leaving the port! Glad my mini collection is complete!

I was at a local store yesterday & saw this same kinda $hit there;

- M1A Scout for $1700
- Century AK variant starting at $850
- 5.45 WPA ammo for $9.99/box
- 5.56 PMC xTac for $15.99/box

It was truly a WTF moment....

Cheaper then Dirt, who I will no longer do any business with is selling what were $200 dollar boxes of ammo for $900. Its insane. Bizarre Guns has very little left in EBR's and they jacked their prices way up. Ammo is still around in the stores and the store prices are better then most of the on-line prices.

This happened under Clinton in the late 80's, AK ammo was $100 a thousand and went to a little over $300, guns went nutty to. It took a year or so to come back down. Obama had a scare also 4 years ago. This one is more serious but in another year or so, the current guns and mags will still be there, prices will come back down. Matter of how soon you want it.

some appear to be stocking up for the possible ammo restriction.

A gun ban doesn't have much real effect, other than jacking the price up. But if they restrict ammo, guns will simply become useless. Want to reload? no more gun powder either(considered as explosive, no?)

Kill the gasline, then pretty soon no car will be runing.

We have a local online classified here, and the same private moron who has an ad saying that "guns are bad, so sell me yours for $50.00 buyback" is trying to sell Tulammo fmj (Walmart $4.97) for $36.00 and being arrogant about it by saying, "if you don't like it then don't buy from me".

I just dropped by Academy to see what was up.

No "sporting" rifles, but plenty of rimfire, bolt, shotguns and handguns.

No magazines at all, no .223/5.56mm on the self, but cases of everything else.

Honestly I don't think they will be able to push through a "ban" but I think there will be restrictions, waiting periods and background checks again. I should not have drug my feet in buying an AR, because they are gone. I suppose it's not a big loss for me, since my Mini will get the job done just fine.

Gun stores here are swamped and running out of inventory fast. As far as i can tell, reloading components aren't that popular here.
I have a supply of lead ingots ai made a while backj. All i need is a mold now to start casting for my .40. Looks like it was a good idea.

I'm feeling exactly the same way. Two months ago I only looked down my nose at the black gun, seeing it only as a symbol of the dark, modern world and proud of my Mini's 50s era heritage. By the time I decided "Gee, maybe I'd want one of those one day," it was too late and they were all gone or five times the price. Guess I'll have to keep me fingers crossed and wait it out.

Regardless if anything or nothing will happen, the Fed is still going to print 80 billion a month for an indefinite period so.. Everything is going to go up.
