I read that the z-max was the same as the v-max, which I think is also the same as the defense bullets. Mine likes the 55gr z-max, but I found its a little less accurate than the 50gr v-max Fiocchi ammo I've been running lately. At $18/20 the zombie max is too expensive for me for practice, but the boxes sure look cool. The marketing worked.
Where did you get the Archangel stock? I've looked all over for one the only one I found was for a 10/22.

Finally done.... for now

-Mini-14 580 Tactical Model
-Archangel Sparta Stock
-Eotech XPS-2 Holographic Weapons Sight
-Magpul MBUS 2gen Flip-Up backup sights (The Co-Witness with the Eotech perfectly)
-Viking Tactics VTAC 2-point quick adjust sling
-Uncle Mike's Quick Release sling mounts (stock comes installed with "female" end for QR mounts)
-UTG Rails & Low-Pro Aluminum Foregrip
-ASI Adjustable Gasblock

Loaded with Hornady Zombie-Max Ammo:2guns:

Extremely happy with the Archangel stock (as are most)
Thanks, YZblue it's the factory Ruger 20rd mag. I just purchased another one and a factory 30rd and Triple K 40rd from CDNN. They also gave me two stripper clip guides for a special they had.
I picked up a couple of PMAGs for mine, who makes the stock? That cheek piece looks like it would help with a scope.
Promag makes the Archangel stocks. They have them for the 10/22 and Remington 597 .22s. Also have the sparta for the mini 14/30, a stock for the m14/m1a1, and a few shotguns. The website is promagindustries.com. No offense to promag, buy don't buy one there, look around online and you can save A LOT of money. I just got the Archangel Nomad stock for my 10/22, its a big improvement over the 5.56 kit I have on my Remy 597- Im going to put the remy back into the orig stock and sell the archangel 5.56 I think...
pics of my mini will be up by tomorrow, its a 581 SS Mini 30 Ranch

Quick ****ty update- added a bottom rail and some MBUs, as well as a new optic
Hey, I like this set up. I am new to the mini-14, just ordered a 5847 will have it next week. Can you tell me all the names and makes of the mods you did? Thanks!!!
welcome sgt45
I was watching the utube video on installing the Archangel stock on the mini 14 and after watching it the Archangel is out because there are certain models its not made for, and my 182 is one of them. Trying to find a stock with a moveable cheek piece on it to work better with the scope I would like to eventually put on it, I've seen some nice pics on here with some awesome looking rifles I just need to find out who makes the stocks.
Sparta for older mini's

YZBlue....and yes I am a Yamaha fan too...got a WR250F, kids got YZ85.....anyways...I have a 181 model and just put a Sparta on it.....I had to do 3 small mods on the top rail....took about 4 hours....I will put up pics and instructions if you want....put 50 rounds through it last weekend and it seems to work great, zeroed in my optic with no problems! The weight of the stock all but removed any recoil and the pistol grip is awesome.

Another rider awesome, I use the 450F for MX racing they tell me 56 is too old but I have a blast, it's just for fun. I went and put the Tapco collapsible stock on mine because they said the Sparta wouldn't fit:angry:but since the Tapco has both upper and lower rails I won't have to deal with scope mounts on the receiver, a scope with a long eye relief will work well, I've noticed in a lot of pics here that's what others have done.

Here is my mini-
581 series
Mini 30 Ranch
Black synthetic stock w/ S/S
Upgrades/'Mods'-
BC folder (permanently open, stupid laws) with paracord wrap cheek rest
Black Mo-Reaper front sight/muzzle brake (awesome)
Pre-ban 30 round mag (special thanks to therobfather)
Vacuum cleaner belt buffers
Blackhawk! 1.25" web sling
Choate handguard (looks way better than stock)

Maybe painting the stock OD green, keeping the checkering black? And the re-wrap the wire stock in OD or camo paracord?

Hey anyone have a Remington model 597? I have a ProMag Archangel 5.56 stock kit for it with lots of add-ons/extras that I'm considering selling. It looks like an AR. Message me for info.

Sorry my camera is my Blackberry, thus the crappy quality. The last pic is with my 10/22 wearing a ProMag Nomad stock, btw.
Here is my newly acquired Mini 14, took it to the range this morning, threw some lead down range, she functioned great. Got home, and there was something waiting for me in the mail box....my SOCOM Accu-strut! That is the only thing i've done to it so far....waiting for a flash hider, and my Duracoat.

Here is the next update...Ultimak rail with optic....still gotta finish up the Duracoat job on the barrel, flash hider and receiver.

I LOVE flash hider you got there. Ive been looking for an m14 style one but it needs to have a new roll pin drilled. Where did you find yours?
56 is plenty young....

I belong to a club here in TN call NATRA....we have 6000 acres of prime trail riding and a ton of the guys out there are well into their 60s and still fast as snot! The guy who lays out all the trails is 70!!!

Hey, I think I saw where you figured out it wouldn't work on your model?

Anyway ways, just fyi I had the HARDEST time trying to find the stock.

I found 2-3 companies that said they had it in-stock. So I ordered it, only to find out in a few days they didn't have it in stock (this ended up putting allot of my money on hold).

One company in particular (FEDtactical Direct) had my money "pending" for a week... said it would get refunded... ended up actually posting... then finally refunded it. Dude I was talking with through e-mails was rude as hell too. Acting like it wasn't his fault. Not saying it was, but he wasn't quiet getting the point that my money was locked up. Other companies refunded within a day... his took a week. Idk. That company has tons of great reviews... I just had a really bad experience.

Soooo I ended up physically calling cheaper-than-dirt and talked to an extremely nice lady who found their very last Spartastock out of a warehouse in South Carolina.

My recommendation is call the company first, see if they ACTUALLY have it (so it's not a drop-shipment sort of operation) then pay for it.

Cheers!

Steel ventilated handguard

Thanks, I decided to go with a stock in town I could lay my grubby hands on, since I couldn't have the sparta, I went with the Tapco collapsible stock, not the fanciest but a nice platform I think. Its got the top rail for goodies and bottom rail for a bipod or a hand-grip. Its a start. :)
I also had a not so great experience with FEDtactical, I say stay away from them
