9 AM SEPT. 22 SUNDAY PLINK TOUR

Please Leave It NRA Klean

Meet us at 9 AM at the U.S. Forest Service Information Center on the south side of Hwy. 50 at Camino Heights Drive, five miles east of Placerville. The Cal Trans signs say;

"National Forest -Tourist information - wilderness permits".

We will show you where to drive to on paved roads, and clean up eight places where it is legal to shoot targets (not on trees). A Forest Service representative may be available to help you pick your own spots elsewhere by explaining the laws, and answering your questions

Just bring your gloves, and guns. We will host tools, trash bags, cold drinks, chips, and sandwiches. We are usually done around 2 PM. You can stay to shoot in the shade. One truck is needed to go to the dump.

Your National Forest, use it or loose it.

PLINK is a cooperative project of the El Dorado NRA Members Council, Rod & Gun Club, and the Placerville Ranger District of the Eldorado National Forest.

questions ? phone Steve Morgan at (530) 620-3900, or 3946

Thanks, Slipjoint for that information. A couple years ago, I asked some guys that live up there if it's okay to target practice in the woods. The reply was, since the rangers were given the same authority as federal police, they're really out to get you. So don't even think about it. I guess the rules are relaxed a little this year?

It would be nice to know what their new laws are.

formula,
I'll be trying out deer hunting for the first time in Kali next weekend when the season opens. I called the Eldorado National Forest number for information on deer hunting and got a polite lady. I expected a bad attitude but got the opposite.

I've read reports that hunting licenses are dropping off and visits to the national forests are dropping off. Maybe now we're welcome back into our public forests?

Could it be because of new leadership in the Whitehouse? Politics is amazing crap!

National forests are and will always be the only place it is perfectly legal to carry and dispense a loaded firearm. As always stupidity will get you in trouble so read the laws. I personally spend countless weekends in the El Dorado, Toiyabe, Stanislaus, Mendocino,Trinity...................ect.......................national forests, in search of small prey and coyotes.

Respect for others and property is the key, if you think you shouln't, DONT!

Deer hunting in California is still a lot of fun even in more hunter populated areas. I have met a lot of good people out there. We all have a common bond and need unity. I like hunting as far north as I can go.:usa:
