Hello to all, I just bought an all weather ranch rifle- Mini 14. As I'm in CA I won't be able to pick it up until Oct 30. this will be my first Mini 14. I look forward to learning about it here from you all.
Welcome always nice to see another California guy on here. My mini-14 was the first rifle I ever purchased and I love it other than the fact that it throws the shells half way to china. I just have the standard wood stock and steel barrel. Do yourself a favor get a recoil buffer for it only costs about 15 bucks and will save you from a little wear and tear. I have put about 1,500 rounds through mine and have yet to see any wear on the buffer. Also if you have a little extra cash get yourself a forward mounted scout rail got one on mine and its well worth the cost. that way you dont have to mount a scope over the action.
