several of us have decided that you dont need a 'fat barrel' to make a mini shoot, unless you want to spend 3 or 4 hundred bucks to make your mini look different, first try a 20 dollar muzzle brake, you will probably be amazed at the way it tightens up your groups.

Well it depends on how good you want the mini to shoot. Most guys are honestly not serious target shooters and rarely use their mini for varmint hunting. So most are satisfied with 3 inch groups which is about what most minis do (with scopes too).

Now if you glass bed the mini, do a light trigger job and add an off-the-shelf semi-heavy Shilen barrel, with quality hand loads, they will shoot around 1 MOA. No need to get too wild with the custom heavy barrels unless you want sub 1/2 MOA.
