I love shooting mine at the Garand Matches. I shot my first one when I was in the Air Force and did military funerals. They went bang, but didn't actually shoot anything. I got one of the refinished ones a few years back with the new stock and re-barrel. The rest is all GI. Still looks like new.

When I got mine I also ordered a 1000 rounds of ammo. I counted and I have about 480 left. But still have all the empties. I reload specifically for it and now only shoot the reloads. When I go to the matches I always buy their ammo and save the brass. I have a good collection of LC brass for the thing. Most reloading manuals and powder makers have Garand loads listed. After all, you are what you eat.
