Here is an old pic of my now long gone 188-series stainless Ranch Rifle. Sold it back in 1995, needed the money really bad. I wonder where it is now. It had a Butler Creek stock, Eagle flash hider/HK sight and a bead blasted finish. Sure do miss it...

Sig, very nice looking shooter! Should funds allow, you might be able to replicate that look with a new 583 Stainless Tactical (model 5819), with better accuracy, or a model 5817 Stainless Ranch (no flash hider).

RJF, I finally scratched that itch 2 years ago when I got a 583 Stainless Tactical, it's definitely a much better rifle, but I still miss my first one

Sig, we will always miss our first love. I still have my 181 Mini GB - my first firearm. My nephew (heir to my "great estate") will get it, and it was the first non-.22 he ever shot. He is in love with it, so I know it will live on forever.

Very true RJF. Even though it wasn't my first firearm (my 10/22, which I still own, holds that honor), it was the first one I actually attempted to customize to my liking. It started a trend that has continued to this day (everything I own I customize to some extent).

Sig, customizing is the true measure of love. Or like. Or whatever. It personalizes your weapon. Still, for me, keeping an original pristine (applies to computers, cars, and guns) is an emotional commitment.
