This is my Mini Stainless Ranch 181 I bought recently.I sold my very early Mini long ago and decided the time was right for another. It came with sling and a Lyman All American scope. I figured with the CA laws the way they are I better buy now before I get stuck with the mags I still own from my first Mini. There are not many nice semi auto rifles we can own without a BS registration.
You people in the free states be glad you live there!
Anyone with smaller sized scope recomendations that work well for you would be appreciated.

Thanks

Nice mini Gil. I love the laminate stock. I bought 2 for the 10/22 I'm building. My leupold has generous eye relief, but it looks about the same size as yours i.e. 3-9x40mm. It cost $179 at Academy sports. I think they have raised the price to $212. Still cheap for a leupold. It has generous eye relief allowing me to mount it further fwd. The other thing I noticed was the light fills all the tube, so the field of view is larger also. Maby a 2-7x32 scope would do it far ya for a smaller scope?

I use to own a Mini 30 and mounted a Burris 2 x 7 Compact scope on it. It worked well and seemed to fit the character of the rifle. Burris has their Compact scopes available in several configurations. BTW nice rifle:)

Thanks for the scope tips that was the kind of info I was looking for. I've never owned a lam stock before,I liked it the second I spotted it in the rack.I would like to get a lam for my 10-22 also.

cajungeo-that is a great price on a Leupold!I have several rifles I could also get a Leupold to work great on.I can afford that kind of price. Its the $400+ ones that scare me! A small compact may be the ticket.

bg's- We sure have to put up with a lot here, don't we?I have several H&R M1's I bought from the CMP.Be sure to pickup some of that great Danish 06 in clips & bandolers thats available now.Its a great deal and will be gone soon.

cz75fan- Your idea of the compact scope is what I was thinking of,to be lighter and easy to carry over rough ground.I do a little recreational gold prospecting in remote areas here in Northern California and would like to carry the Mini with me.

If I'm back at the house and not packing the rifle in I can use and badly need a larger scope for these old eyes.I notice from the pictures most of you have the larger scopes.I have a couple large Tasco & BSA scopes but noway they would fit on my Mini Ranch.

I guess my mind was slower than normal.I read about a 181 on the board before posting about my 188 rifle.I always get the wrong number in the Lotto also.
Please forgive a one finger typist.
