Guys!! How much do you think the muzzle brake on a Mini 14, helps in terms of accurizing, as opposed to not having one on it? Bye the way , a old fella I shoot with, thinks I just put it on there as a Flash hider, like a Closet Commando, He thinks i,am NUTS, What do you think?

i know about the B/W muzzle brake, but does a double brake REALLY work better then a single?

and do the size of the holes matter, i've seen all kinds of M/B's with many differant sized holes, anybody have data for brakes??

There arn't a lot to choose from, (3 quick add on's I know of)unless you want a custom. The $19.95 BW cut my groups from 4 1/2" to 2 1/4" average groups at 100 yds. Thats double my accuracy for less than 20 bucks :D I had to spend $65 more to cut the 2 1/4" in to 1 1/2" with factory ammo.:) Now my reloading is another chapter down to 1.15" average groups so far. Best group at .85" at 100 yds.

You can do a search on muzzle brake, for a lot more info.

Wardog,
I have a 196 series Mini-14 SS RR and the double muzzlebreak fits perfectly. When I bought the Mini, I just went to the range I shoot at, and the owner put the break on for me. It took him less than 5 min.

Black Warrior muzzle brakes are made be John Mason Co. I have a 197 ranch mini 14 and it fits perfect! Midway has the muzzle brake for $12.49, and is called John Mason, not Black Warrior. I might be wrong about the first name John, but the last name Mason I am sure of.

Just went shooting with my new BW/JM muzzle brake for the first time. I was shooting at a metal target at 265 yards, and could only tell if I hit it or not, didn't have any way to measure actual accuracy. The one thing we noticed was that the sound produced by firing was different. One of these days, I'll get down to the EF&GA rifle range and let yall know how the accuracy improves on paper at 100 yards.
