I looking to add a muzzle brake to my Mini 14 tactical. It is alreaded threaded and has the factory flash hider. I believe it is threaded 1/2"-28.

Looking at the Smith Enterprises good iron and the Daniel Defense muzzle climb mitigator.

Anyone have experience with either? Or other options or suggestions ?

Thanks for the help!

Just out of curiosity ...
What exactly are you dissatisfied with on the factory flash hider?
Looks, performance, extra change burning a hole in your pocket?

I second the Smith Good Iron. I have one on my Tactical and it really keeps the muzzle down for faster follow up shots. The factory bird cage is useless for anything other than a flash suppressor.

Be sure to measure your threading first! The first year of the Tactical used a different thread! Both are available from Smith.
