I had a New Vaquero 5 1/2" bbl in .357; it felt both muzzle heavy and overall heavy to me, whereas the same gun in .45 would feel good (but I don't reload any .45 stuff).
So I got a Tyler New Vaquero .357/9mm with the 4 5/8" barrel and replaced the steel ejector housing with aluminum. For me, the balance and overall weight are just right. With smooth walnut grips it rolls up nicely in my hand without abrading, and I can fire full house .357 loads 'til the cows come home. Whereas in a S&W 66, 12 rds of .357 is as much as I can enjoy.
Enjoy yours!
