and I need a shoulder to cry on
. Things were slow at work today, yep, I have to work week-ends, and I got to thinking of all those "good gun deals" I missed out on in the past. The one that brought tears to my eyes was visiting my Dad at his wood shop about 10 years ago, he had a 55 gallon barrel full of old military gun stocks. They were all the same, wrapped in brown oily paper. He got them at an auction sale somewhere for next to nothing, ask me if I wanted them. At the time I wasn't into those "old ugly Army guns" so I passed. I think he finally cut them up into kindling for his wood heating stove.
Now the tear jerker,,, they were all 1903 Springfield, unissued, finger groove "S" stocks.
I wasn't sure if I should post this in Chit-Chat or C&R, figgered I might get more sympathy here,,
Time for a beer to cry into,,,,,,,
