I am a proud Mini-14 Owner w/PMI Mags.

My brother is thinking of purchasing a Mini-30. Thermold Mags are out of his price range. They are just too steep.

Are there any reasonably reliable Mini-30 20 or 30 round mags than can be tweaked and considered sorta reliable?

Anyone have any luck?

i have 2 10 round mags on order from fourfourmag.com (mini-30 mags). i live in NJ so i can't order a 20rd mag. i'l see how it works out of the box and i'l document any needed modifications to make them reliable/consistent w/o malfunctions.

I had bought a 30 rnd for my mini 30 and at first it didn't feed worth crap. I bent the lips slightly and it works fine for at least 20 rounds, but I havn't tried all 30. I believe its a western mag.

Thats one of the problems I have with 30 rd mags I have 4, It takes a box, and a half to fill em. I'm only buying 20 rd mags any more. I have a couple of 5 rd, and 4 - 10 rd mags, I like.

The mini 30 is a post ban gun for the most part and only poor quality aftermarket hi cap mags are available. I tend to stick with factory 5 round or ProMag 10 round mags.
