I am getting ready to buy a new Mini 30 and have been reading about ignition problems with berdan primed cartridges. Can someone tell me which area of the firing pin is the area that the pin is stopped of its forward movement? I am attaching a picture of a firing pin I found online which I have identified 3 possible areas which might stop the forward movement. I numbered the areas 1, 2 and 3. Is any of the areas the one which restricts the firing pin and affects firing pin protrusion?

No Expert, but I believe the correct way to "adjust" firing pin protrusion is to obtain a too-long firing pin and reduce the length of the "Pin" tip protrusion. I don't believe "trimming" of the areas you've pictured is recommended.
I guess if you want to spend the extra $73 + shipping cost. Not to hard to gain another .004" to .005" protrusion. I'll spend my money on ammo.
