Question to all... The threaded muzzle of a miniGB
is exactly same as M16A1. True/False?

Up date...

Well, did a lot of research. M16A1 is 1/2-28, Mini GB is 9/16-24. Thanks to everyone who responded. Why you would call it a GB, yet not be govt specs is beyond me. Taps and dies for this thread are
located at jtsmach.com

False. M16 used 1/2" threads. GB & AC-556 use 9/16" - 24 pitch. I don't remember the pitch of 1/2" m16 threads off the top of my head. As for the GB/AC I am holding one in my hand and the thread gauge and calipers don't lie.

If I'm not mistaken it's ½X26, I can't understand why the industry would use such fine threads on this. The muzzle of any weapon is a dirty spot & those fine threads would be the first place to accumulate that crud.

Just my 2¢

I annotated my original post as to my findings. Thanks to everybody for the response. The M16A1 is
1/2-28, and the GB is 9/16-24. These numbers are 100% correct. As stated, the taps and dies can be located at JTSMach.com.
