Yeah, I have three 30's and one 40 rounder. They have never messed up on me. I use them to plink and play and save my Ruger's and PMI's for the rainy day. The fit and finish is not as nice as the higher dollar ones, but seem to work fine. I may pick up a few more just for grins. If you are just going to play, I think there fine. But if you plan to have one to save your life, spend the $ and get a few good ones.

Thanks...Grinch, You refer to PMI is that the same as Pro Mag?
I have order a Mini from ARS. I wish I would have read more on the accuracy thread before I ordered. Live & learn. I am sure it will be a good shooter. By the way which caliber do you like best?

I have PMI's and Ruger's. My Ruger's are the best but the PMI's are right behind them. As for cal. I like the 223, but there is nothing wrong with the 30 cal. Both are fun to shoot and the ammo is cheap. I got the 223 because I now have 4 different long guns that will shoot the same round. I can buy one box and then try to figure out what toy to play with.

Hi Hairbear,
PMI and ProMag are different manufacturers as I understand it. PMI made preban high capacity mags while ProMag makes postban 10 round magazines. I don't have any experience with ProMag but others on this board have used them with good results. I agree with CameraMan on the Ruger mags, if you can afford them they are the best.
I don't know too much about the calibers but I think quality high caps for the Mini-30 are even more difficult to find than for the Mini-14.
Have fun with your mini, I am sure you will enjoy it!

Welcome to the forum Hairbear. If you use the search button, and enter western as a key word, several threads will come up with your key word, will be in Red. I like the pro-mag 10 rnd, They work very well, and PMI (Precision Mag Industries) for 20, and 30 rnd.

BTW I'm moving this thread to the Magazine section for better response.
