I like the way a sling is attached to a M1 carbine stock on the rear of the rifle. Can anyone cut this slot into a Mini 14 stock? If so. I have 3 to do.
Ive done that before on other guns and it works. Not worried about the stockNylon webbing strap going around rear of stock with a "stirrup" for the butt plate would accomplish the same goal with no damage to the wooden stocks. Use OEM sling stud for support of strap. Suggest "cam-lock" buckle to secure strap that goes around the rifle's stock.
Locate Tri-Glide buckle or simple loop for rear sling attachment point and sew it in position.
Cheap and can be hand-sewn if no sewing machine available.
No offense, but some wooden Ruger Mini stocks seem to be getting scarcer (and rising in cost) as time goes on. Suggest unmolested wooden stocks might be worth more in the future, in the event you change to a different stock.Ive done that before on other guns and it works. Not worried about the stock
