I HAVE A MINI 14 THAT I WILL BE USING FOR COYOTE HUNTING. I HAVE HEARD THAT THE FACTORY RUGER MOUNTS ARE NOT VERY ACCURATE BECAUSE THEY CAN SHIFT, IS THIS TRUE??

ALSO ARE THERE ANY BETTER WAYS THAN THESE SCOPE MOUNTS FOR A RANCH RIFLE.

THANKS
CHAD

Try Brownells catalog # 53, pg 289. It's a" Ranch Rifle Scopemount" by Weigand. Another on pg 277. That one is made by Warne and they call it a" Ruger Carbine Base". Both work the same way. Both are about 5" long and attach to the Ruger mounts on your mini. The new bases are Weaver type. Then order some Burris SIGNATURE RINGS with the synthetic inserts. That should straighten out any misalignment problems from any receiver casting irregularity. Put it all together right and it won't go anywhere.

I have used the factory scpoe mounts and found that
they work well. The first time I used them I was target shooting.
After about 40 rounds the scope mounts came loose. To solve this
I used loc-tite on the four screws that hold the rings to the scope.
Next I tightened the ring mount screws good and tight with the '
proper size screwdriver. Again I target shot 100 - 200 rounds.
It was very accurate at 100 yards. Good Luck
