I have a synthetic Mini-14 Ranch, and I was just wondering if you guys knew of any decent (in quality and price) muzzle breaks. If you do, it would help me a lot if you told me, thanks.:ar15:

Thanks for criticizing my spelling, now allow me to criticize your use of the English language. First of all, you must capitalize the first word in each sentence. Second, you must capitalize company names. Finally, do not use run-on sentences. Thanks

P.S. Next time criticize me politely, then I will refrain from being a jackas....you know.

I just got my grubby li'l hands on a John Masen (Black Warrior) brake and I'm not really impressed with the sloppy fit. Some folks have been pleased with the precise fit on theirs, but mine has about 2 degrees of wobble. Whazzat? Did I overheat my barrel and then get it rained on, thus shrinking it? Or is JM's QC NG?
And, of course, it's Saturday, and I can't call them til Monday, oh what to do...

Yeah, I did sort of over-react, but I'm tired of being made fun of by people who can't structure sentences. Anyway, I'm sorry, and I'm sure you meant nothing by it, as I don't mean anything by defending myself.

Oh, and regarding brakes.....

I bought an AK74 style brake from bushmaster. The amount of reduction in recoil and muzzle flip is awesome. The only problem is I can't keep the thing on my barrel. It keeps shearing the pins. I even tried drilling small divets for the set screws with no avail. When I called bushmaster about it, they told me that they haven't heard of this problem before. In your case it might be worth a try...

arrowbullet, there is no need to be an ass on this site. we dont need it. you tried that over on the ruger forum and you lost your priviledge to post on that forum, the moderator there informed you that you werent welcome. you are a 15 year old kid trying to interact with adults. you need to respect us grown ups because believe it or not, we DO know more than kids. give the adults a bit of respect and you might find you get some in return.

I hope we don't get to critical about mispelled words as I'm probably the worst. :( The guys in this forum are very helpful, and they make my job a real pleasure. I just wish my daytime job was as much fun. :D

arrowbullet, many of us have the BW double muzzle brake, same as the John Masen brake $19.95. There is also a AK type brake like bubba has $29.95. They use a roll pin to replace the one in the front sight pin. Ya just knock out the sight pin, slip it on, drive in the new pin. There is another that uses set screws to tighten against the barrel, but can't find it readly. You may want to use the search button, and enter muzzle brake, several posts will come up. Most shooters seem to get their groups cut in half with the std 18 1/2" barrel using a brake.

Bubba, is there any evidence of your brake getting hit by the bullet? I can't picture the gass alone shearing the pins.

Woah, gutpile, calm down, you showed me no respect, you criticized me severely, and I showed you the upmost respect. Maybe if you "adults" showed me respect, I would respect you back. I meant no disrespect in the first place, besides calm down, or you'll get us both banned.

Listen, I'm sorry this got ugly, I really meant no disrespect. I would love to keep my posting rights, so let's be civil about this. It's the internet for god's sakes! I'm sure we'd get along if we met each other in person.

arrowbullet chill, I don't know what you went thru elsewhere, but you are over reacting.

Any further argument, or name calling by anyone will not be tolerated. I want it stoped now! This thread is closed!

You know, cajun, you spelled 'stoped' wrong too!

Hey, just kidding! You are right though. Arrowbullet is over-reacting and I think its interesting to see how things escalate so rapidly. So interesting, in fact, that I never want to see it again.

Basically what I am trying to say is, lets be civil here. This is a mature, factual forum. Bad mouthing, bashing, temper escalating, etc., will not be tolerated. Not even by adults. No one is trying to disrespect you, Arrowbullet. Gutpile was simply pointing out that it is properly called a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle BREAK. He was trying to pass you a tiny bit of information and being helpful, not critical.

When it comes to speelink, grammar, run-on sentences, etc. blah blah, you will realize that in the real world, what really matters is the point you are trying to make. This isn't grammar class. Making fun of one's spelling is one thing. Harshly criticising it and their integrity is an entirely different matter.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion - that's the whole point of these forums. I will never infringe on a persons right to voice his/her opinion. There are cases, however, where it becomes a pointless battle of who's right and who's wrong. The facts go out the window and tempers flare up, name calling starts. If you disagree with another member, that is fine. State your case - that is your right. If your opinion is that you are being mistreated, then you can also exercise your other rights... the right to leave, and the right to ignore the other person.
