Gonna use my Ranch Rifle with a value priced (read CHEEP!) imported Chinease 2.5X scope in the next match at Tac Pro Shooting Center (west of Ft Worth, Tx.) This to go along with my P95 and my Ruger hearing protectors. As I told some friends, a little "shock and awe" of my own!!

There will be around 60 shooters, about 85% with some sort of AR (son, who is heading for the ARMY will use my AR15, with his P94, of course) and the rest either M1a's or a FAL. I have used my L1A1 the past 3 times with good results, but this time will go with the Mini.

I have added an M14 style flash supressor in stainless from 2deg.com. Anybody had any experience with thst style of muzzle thingey?
I will also use 3 USA 30 rounders that fit and function perfectly (luckey me), so I think I will finish in the top half of the shooters, like I have in the past. I have gotten a lot of stares with My L1A1 Entreprise Type 1 Inch pattern home built with the 18 inch barrel, so I expect a lot of side way glances, and even a few upturned noses form the AR crowd.

Like I said, "shock and awe!!"

Welcome to the forum Mdwink. I admire your resolve to get the job done, I have a certain smile I give the AR's upturned noses, it always cause them to turn the other way, then things go wrong for them. You may like to read another post from one of our distihguished members, and his mini trials in LasVegas. Check out: http://www.perfectunion.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=school

Don't get me wrong the AR is the Rifle you pay for . It is The owners contemptious attitude I like to annoy. They drive away frowning in their Volvo's, I drive away smilling in my Dakota truck.:D

Yas, Mike is a good friend. He even offered to run over my Mini with his truck one time. Of course, that was when I had left it on top of the Suburban I was riding in, and we were about to move to another shooting spot. He was the one who reminded me that the Mini was on the roof of the Suburban :p, cooling from our shooting session. Hey, he even commented POSITIVLY about how well my Ranch shoots! :D

Hey mchgnmike. Since your a product tech for CTD. I have a question or comment about your product RGR-050. There is a remark I have to take issue with: "Does not fit guns with serial number above 195-range, the barrel diameter is too large."

Many of us have this muzzle brake, series 195-196, 197. All I can say is it fits. I have recommended this product at least umpteen times. The BW brake fits my 196 series perfect. I have had to answer to new members this remark many times, can you take care of this as I believe it is in error? Thanks.

cajungeo,

I will check it again but word from the Muzzlebrake manufacture and Ruger is that the diameter of either the barrel or the front sight was enlarged. Why? I do not know. I will look into it again and check it with guns we have in our showroom. Give me a couple of days to get to it though.

When I got my muzzle brake from CTD, a John Mason tag fell out of the box. I assume John Mason is the Manuf? It looks identical to theirs, only no mention of it not fitting 195 or newer on their web site.

JBA,I have actually been around for a while, but I don't post too much. I spend much of my time reading, and sometimes laughing!

Yes, the match is open to the public. All you need is a rifle of any type, as long as it is a major caliber. I have seen bolt actions, and even lever and trap door types. The pistol has to be at least 9mm, and can be a revolver. Shotgun is anything that goes bang safely. Pump, auto, over and under, etc. The idea is to have fun. Check the post under Competition Shooting below. Mikee has posted the location and contacts for the shoot. But, be warned-try it once, and I guarentee you will be hooked!! Worse addiction than crack (I guess ;)) and you will never, ever be able to break the habbit. Be warned, as you WILL have fun, and will learn a lot. The slots are filling fast, but you can check www.tacproshootingcenter.com for more datails. Come shoot with us! :ar15:

Thanks for the offer but I think I'm goint to watch a couple of events before getting my feet wet. So would it be open for the public to view? I'm trying to convince a few shooting buddies of mine from my car club to come watch with me.

JBA,

That is how MDWINK was hooked I invited him to spectate and now I cannot keep him away from these shoots. Come on out and enjoy yourself. Plenty of action to see and plenty of good people to talk to. Cool weapons and gear to see.

Come on out, you'll be hooked.
