I had a muzzle attachement w/sight installed on mine not to long back. It was made in around 1985 I think, but shot alot. The old factory sight had to have relief cuts made in the band to get it off, because it had sweated itself permanantly attached to the gun over the years. And replacements are cheap and easy to come by so I didnt worry about it.

I replaced my front sight with a combo muzzlebrake sight following what I read here. It worked great. Once I had the roll pin out I put the muzzle down on a block of wood and taped the sight with a brass punch and hammer, it came right off. My minni was made in late 99.

The muzzle brake didn't have the roll pin, fell out of the package. I was to impatient to send it back. I went to the motorpool and sorted though the parts bins till I found one that fit. Thanks Uncle Sam.
