Well as i mentioned privately i am having a mini done by asi. It went in on the 10th of oct, but they have been busy for x-mas, and is taking a while. it seems with all said and done a lot of us are having similiar if not the same things done. cajungeo has been very nice and answered some questions. i have had a 20 inch barrel put on, but i added a compensator that adds about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. i had the barrel polished and the rest of the rifle. Carl was good enough to send me a 1" piece of the bead blasted barrel that is sort of gray but being a custom knife maker and doing most of my pieces in polished chome, i went for the polished. Did not want to spend more money, but you only go around once, and i am not 20 any more. the barrel was done .920"dia. i had a shock sup. put in that was only 16 bucks. the triger group was done at 3 1/2 pounds but i had a trigger shoe added that he says is going to make it like a 2 1/2 pull????? the rifle will be pin beded. i had a front tritium( spelled wrong i am sure, but i am too tired to look it up please forgive me). i will have a 4-16 tactical scope with an illuminated reticle either a nikon which i might be able to get a deal on or a leupod var-x iii then agian how are the barris black diamond. ANY THOUGTS rom the experts out there??? . the reason for the front sight is i have spent too much on the rifle, and i will have to be ridding bare back for a little while, while i save. It would be very hard to fire with out a front sight. i think last, but not least as i mentioned i make knives, and i love fine wood so a friend got me a 500-600 piece of claro english walnut for almost a song. i desighed a stock and desighed a stock then sent it to GREAT AMERICAN GUNSTOCKS in yuba city calif. i think the sight is www.gunstocks.com ??? . he did a great job shipped it back to me and i finished it . it came out beautiful. Carl at asi told me not to have him take off to much wood when inleting it, but not enough was taken off so it had to be shipped back to them with the rifle to finalize. CARL was a little conservitive and did not want to mess up a custom stock. i guess i can not blame him. i guess i would have done the same. i am eager to get it back to col. to have if finished up so i can put my hands on it!!!!!!. i should mention that if the finish is too bright i do have the ability to take the finish down to a satin.
