I have been looking at a standard SA M1A with birch stock,and was wondering what kind of 100yd groups I could look for from the standard rifle. With good match ammo and with surplus ball? Thanks for any info.

2 - 4" at 100 yards with iron sights is generally considered SOP for military rifles . That is with military ammo .Originally posted by 22man
1911's that would do better than that. Even 2"@100 yds would mean that you'd have a lot of shots off of a man's chest at 600 yds, even without wind or mirage considerations. How is that better than an AR15 and 223?
