A couple of years ago when I bought my M1A, I purchased a spare barrel from Springfield Armory. It was a chrome lined GI barrel that looked like it had never been a rifle!! If my memory serves me correctly, I want to say that I paid around $100 bucks for it. You may want to check out their website.

Hey Grilla, I just saw a NEW,never used barrel for sale on Ebay auction site-go to Sporting goods,then Hunting,then barrels,then type in M1a barrel and viola !!! It is a gov't chrome lined bore !! Good luck to you.:2guns: BILL
