I know that AR stuff is going thru the roof right now, so I got a deal on a PSA lower.
Now I need a lower parts kit...Are they all the same?

I have heard spikes are well made, I have a dpms in my stag lower - trigger is decent!
The only place I have found any in stock is gunbroker - auctions suck!

Need opinions....

While LPK's are not available if you sit down with a schematic and take your time you can cobble a LPK together from several different sources. It took me a little over an hour of searching yesterday and I had to doublecheck availability, but I was able to get enough parts from three different sources to assemble one lower.

Ran me about 95 bucks including postage. PITA but I got what I needed.

The only thing that may differ is the trigger and that is usually if you pay extra for something better, otherwise they are all basic GI triggers, everything else is probably all from the same manufacturer.

I guess I lucked out, Palmetto State had a PSA -FDE MOE (stock included) full parts kit in stock christmas day.

I see NO ONE has mags in stock!! - Magpul stated on their site they were shipping PMags on 12/21/12 retail price $14.99 - I wonder if any of the stores will jack up the prices?

Check The Mako group for mags, they were in stock the other day. I know these mags were a little higher than others, but supposedly they are a little better made. I haven't seen one personally so I can't offer an opinion on that. I guess it will all come down to how fast do u want the stuff and how much are u willing to pay! I paid about a $300 premium on my purchase the other day, but I was afraid to wait until things settle down.. As long as this administration is in office, I believe it will be an ongoing struggle between government and gun owners! The Sportsman warehouse or the Sportsman Guide had magazines coming in in a few weeks I think. Maybe u can backorder and get the same low price they normally cost??

woodstock is correct.

LPK's are generally the same from one to another. Even if your LPK is marketed by a well-known AR-15 manufacturer, it's probably made by another company.

The biggest variant I've seen in LPK's is the fire control group, specifically the trigger and hammer. For instance, you can buy a LPK that has a RRA two-stage trigger (at least, you used to be able to...when you could find them), instead of a standard GI fire control group.

BTW, I've also cobbled together LPK's from various sources. It's a PITA, but do-able.

My take on LPK's is this...you should always buy one more than you think you need. Those pesky little detents are easily lost, and springs have a tendency to jump around on you too. :p
