The new R.R.A. was out for a break in firing yesterday and worked fine. About 9 rounds to zero and nintey for fun. There was a young Army reservist with a Bushmaster there who after clearing his weapon dry fired it. Told him thats no good for it.He said they were trained to do that. ??? Being a old timer I thought dry firiing was not good for any firearm. Maybe with snap caps.

I know I've never used any type of snap-cap when performing the Safety Function check.

Dry-firing is fine for the AR/M16 firearm. Most firearms nowadays can dry-fire no problem without worry of damage to the firing pin or other parts.

hammer, without cycling the bolt. If they did, I'd dryfire them 10x as much as I do.
