Not sure what it is your asking, but if you are wondering if you have to pay state tax the answer is yes, if you are buying it in the same state you live in. More than likely the dealer that is selling it to you is going to charge you for it.

I don't think it's up to the transfering dealer to collect the tax,it should be up to the selling dealer. You go to your dealer, pay him the $20 for the FFL,sign some papers and be on your way. Hey 2 gun,if you are that concerned about paying plenty of taxes, why not help me out with my property tax or vehicle tax or wheel tax or income tax or capital gains tax!?!?!? Sorry 'bout the excess sarcasim!!

You've made an effort,if he doesn't want to bother with tax, your not the one who'ed be in trouble anyway.

Yes,I think you would have to pay tax on parts that you buy from your dealer. And,since you all live in MO,you might have to pay state tax,if your state taxes internet sales. My state,Nebraska is considering a law to tax internet sales in a pact with several other states!!!! I'm PISSED,they tax the SH_T out of us here in Netaxya! I know alot of people who are or allready have moved to MO when they retire!

2gun,you are usually very clear with your postings, but I had a hard time figuring out what you were trying to say at first!! Not Flaming you bud, just saying maybe post first.....then have happy hour!!

In the anti gun times we live in the last thing I want is to get the IRS on my butt about a gun purchase .That's why I'm being so careful.I have heard alot of diffrent rules about buying a gun over the net so before I buy I want to make sure I dont tick off the IRS.

2gun, I've bought, and sold alot firearms and parts over the net,and have never been charged tax.BUT,I've seen mention of taxes in different places, and they always have a list of the states (where the gun/part buyer might be from) of whom taxes must be collected. My state is not one of them, but the legislature is trying hard to change that!!! I don't know if MO is a state that has internet sales tax or not.
So much for "a govt of the people by the people for the people"!!!! Oh wait, that went out the window LOOOONG ago!!
