You all got a fine forum here! I was surfin' around and lookin' for info on my mini's(post-ban?) I presently own a Min-14 series 183 and a Mini-30 series 189. I found a link(www.mini14world .com) that dated my Mini's as both Pre-Ban! Is this true??? I bought them both last year for about $350 each! they are both in V.G.+ condition. I owned another Mini way back in the mid-80's and loved it. Last year I decided that the AR's and Garands(please don't shoot me for saying that), AK's and SKS's are great rifles, but just weren't suited to my needs and preferences like a Mini is! Don't get me wrong, I love my M1 carbine and I got no complaints about a my AK! Anyway, I've been out of touch with accessories/mags etc for Mini's since before the "BAN THING" happened! Right now I'm scrapping around trying to get a good supply of mags for both. Not easy anymore, but it'll be worth it
later. I'll look forward to hangin' out here in the future, if you all don't mind!

Welcome Mo,
Lots to learn & contribute to the forum. We have a great group of guys here that I have learned much from. By the way guys, I just received my NRA Membership Card today!! Is everyone in the Mini 14 group a member? Also, I shot many rounds through a Colt AR15 the other day. While it looks killer and meaner, with the owners 30 round clip, I realized that you have to aim lower at targets because of the higher sight to barrel radius. It would take some getting use to that's for sure. All in all, I would buy one but I feel better with my Mini....

Sorry but I've got to get a little political since I'm a victim of the great satan socialists of California. The NRA has been a great asset in filing some of the legal challenges to local issues. But, if it were not for the local activists, I don't believe they could do as much.

For example, there are a few lawyers that I'm aware of, that almost volunteer their time on the local issues. They are backed by the NRA in some cases, and in others they are not. Just last month, the Madison Society president of Modesto, CA, participated in, and was supported by NRA local lawyers in, an appeal of the ASSault weapons ban in the CA Supreme Court. We'll have to wait and see how that turns out.

The point is, the legal challenges to SR CA (Socialists Republic of California's) edicts are getting started by the local activists. The NRA is helping immensely, but the fight has to start in home territory.

Kalifornia Citizen,

Funny to hear about lawyers actually working FOR us! LOL

I wish I had a link to it still, but I read an activist article regarding the yahoos in Kalifornia trying to illegalize potato cannons! They claim it's "an uncontrolled explosion" HA

The citizens of Kali should reply "Ok, well then lets ban all cars, since if you consider a potato cannon an 'uncontrolled' explosion, then all a car engine is, is a series of many 'uncontrolled' explosions." What a bunch of idiot politicians.

[but I digress - I hope the moderator doesn't scold me! wait a minute, he's me.]

Mr. moderator, No matter how high up, ya climb, theres always sombody above ya to scold ya. The trick is not to be on the bottem rung, cause when the S_ _ _ starts rolling down hill, there is nowhere else fer it ta go cept round yer ears! (Just an old cajun saying).

Hi Yall,
I just had to write in and 2nd, 3rd the motion about the NRA.
We need them in Kalifornia badly. Oh yes good ole Don Parata is introducing a bill for a five cent tax on each round. I think that makes a brick of 22 long rifle cost about 40.00. Help!!
And yes... Potato cannons are banned. What next. Little by Little.
Watch out. My local Walmart said that next year if you cannot demonstrate how to use the rifle you are going to buy they can't sell it to you. Help...................

If the NRA fails in it's intended tasks, you won't have a DU, QU, NWTF,RMEF, banqet to go to!!! GHD
