I have some hay roller belt that is .150 thick. I thought I would make a couple for the front and back. A friend of mine is coming over tuesday and shoot and I thought it would be a good time to try them out. Thanks!!!

I have a new Buffer Technologies brand unit still in the package. Took it out and it mic'd at .235-.240". Quite honestly, I was rather taken aback at the thickness of the buffer when I received it and I've never installed it to test it out. I'd wager it would need a little thinning to yield reliable function.

IIRC Buffer Technologies brand Buffers do not work as well as Wilson Combat 1911 Buffers.Thinner is better. Just order these, they are cheaper and work! If you want to make something, the buffers are about the same size as a penny and the thickness of two pennys.

Wilson Combat Shok-Buff Recoil Buffer 1911 Government Polyurethane

I made a couple this morning. I put them on the front and rear. I fired it 3 times off the back deck to see if it would function. It ran good. I am going to set a target up this afternoon to if I have to adjust the leupold. Thanks for the help!

Hay roller belts sound big Quad. Bet you could stamp hundreds or thousands of Mini 14 buffers out of that old belt. Sounds like a business opportunity to me. Put my name on the list if it goes well.

They are about 6'' wide and 20' long. My brother gave me one to make a new stripe kit for my grasshopper mower.

The buffers made me change the scope a couple inches. I can't figure out why. But, I think it shoot better now. Or, maybe I was having a good day.
