Hogue stock question

I've been reading about quite a few people who have put a Hogue stock on their mini-14 and every one of them likes it. Most of them say accuracy improves.
Based on this I'm thinking of getting one myself but one thing is holding me back. The Hogue stocks that come on some bolt action guns (Remington for one) are usually considered the weak point of the gun and are often replaced right away with something better. The Hogue stocks are said to be flexy and detract from accuracy.
Can anyone explain why the big discrepancy in opinions between mini-14 owners and bolt action owners when it comes to these stocks? Are the stocks themselves completely different or is it a difference in expectations between two groups or something else?
If anyone has any thoughts on this I'd like to hear them.
