I have a Mini-30 with just ONE LOUSY 5RD MAG LOL! I'd REALLY like to buy some high capacity magazines. I was wondering:

1. What brands are reliable?
2. What brands should I avoid?
3. Should I get 20 rd or 30 rd mags?
4. Where should I buy them?

I feel like there's a limited supply that is dwindling everyday. I put off buying hi caps a while back and now most websites say they're sold out... Help a brotha out!

Go to www.cdnninvestments.com and look at what magazines they have to offer. I purchased 10 mags recently...blue 30 rds...SS 40 rds....and only had one feed problem...loaded that particular magazine with another 10 rds. and didn't have a problem...they are very affordable...and lock into my Mini-14 .223 very well. I figured I wouldn't lose much money with the blue 30 rds. going for about $9.95 and the and the SS 40 rds. mags going for $19.95....I never load the 40 rd. mags with over 30-35 rounds...and the 30 rd. mags with 20-25 rounds...but in the case of something major occuring...I would load the full capacity, if it wasn't going to set full for a very long period at a time.

Have fun plinking...that's why I bought the Wolf ammo anyway. I figured most of the military stuff would be going in support of the war on terrorism for a few years...and I was right...it's beginning to be rare to see it for sale.

:) Hi, I've used several 20 rnd mags (Pro mag) purchased through "Cheaper Than Dirt" and fired several hundred rns through (factory and home loads) with only 2 miss feeds. This was in a 223 Ranch.

However I have found that a lot of the Rusian stuff can operate in a run on fashion. But I believe that Ruger warns against some of that type of ammo acting that way.:rapid:

:usa: Just got my first two Mini-30 10 round mags from http://www.cdnninvestments.com/ . They're USA brand. They seem to work well enough. Just takes a little extra effort to insert the mag into the well.

If you're going to order USA mags I'd do it through these guys and not USA's website. I ordered from them back in July, paid for them, and never got them. I've tried contacting them but all their phone numbers are disconnected.

NIGHT^HAWK-

Are they for the Mini-30 or Mini-14?

While I was at the range last time, the High-cap Mini-30 mag I had was working, but it would pop out of the damn well every third shot or so. I was POed!

A little modification is needed. I have no idea what brand it is though. May be time for me to get some PMIs

There are only two brands of mags that work properly with the mini-14 the first is Ruger the second is PMI (Precision Mag Industries) if you use anything else be prepared for problems.
You can get PMI's in 30 and 40 round blue or stainless, with the 40's you may need to assist the first round into the chamber but after that they rock! I found a source that still has availibility at a decent price www.claudehall.com good luck and don't waste your money on any other brand!:rapid:
