I put a 223 snap cap in the rifle to store it. It will not cycle and eject the snap cap. The Ruger instructions say to cock the rifle and put the safety on to disassemble it. Any suggestions on how to cycle the gun and eject the snap cap?

pull the bolt back and engage the holdback then use a cleaning rod to carefully push the cap out from the muzzle

If you can't pull the bolt back because it's stuck in there, kick the charging handle back with the heel of your boot to eject the snap cap. Then, greese the bolt(shiny parts) and the rails that it slides through. Try it again with the cap. Your rifle must be new and needs breaking in. It'll work after a while.
