I got one in March at Big 5 Sports, but I apparently got lucky as they have only seen a handful all year.

It's been flawless. No FTF, FTE, etc. and it shoots great.

Their distributor told them to not expect ongoing, significant quantities until August.

Best thing is to get on waiting lists at a few different shops.

I put myself on the list for a stainless Mini 14. As long as I get it by December, I'm happy. Minis may well be banned here in California as of January.

Off topic, the mini 14 won't be the only gun being banned. Virtually all handguns will be banned also under this new law. IF it does pass they're will be several major lawsuits that will tie it up in court for years. The law won't go into effect if that happens. I'm in the DPRK by the way.

No. It's not the only one. Sadly, even the 10/22 and every other centerfire or rimfire semi-auto rifle of any kind is on the Sacramento chopping block. I'm still getting another Mini while the gettin's good.

Hey All,

Here in Hawaii haven't seen too many Mini's. One local gun shop, OGC Tactical, had 2 (ranch blued and ranch stainless). I got lucky and walked into another local gun shop, Hawaii Firearms and Range, and they had about 5 or 6 including the Tactical SS I just purchased.

If I hadn't found the Tactical, I was thinking of ordering it online through Hoffman's. They have the Tactical SS for $849 (not including shipping). Looks like they have a sale on all Rugers

With the shipping and the FFL transfer, I would have ended up paying about the same as the local store...and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it
