Has anyone seen any new mini 14s lately?

Has anyone seen any new production mini 14s lately? My gun shop has not been able to get any in months since mid December when this mess got started. Looking for a standard Ranch wood blue and a tactical with full stock.

Also, I have read threads on the board that says that Ruger's QC is out the
window because they are making guns to fast. Any truth to that?

I have not seen a mini 14/30 in 3 months. I don't know about QC, not many complaints here.
:DAll i know is if you read it on the internet... it must be true:D

I got one in March at Big 5 Sports, but I apparently got lucky as they have only seen a handful all year.

It's been flawless. No FTF, FTE, etc. and it shoots great.

Their distributor told them to not expect ongoing, significant quantities until August.

Best thing is to get on waiting lists at a few different shops.

I put myself on the list for a stainless Mini 14. As long as I get it by December, I'm happy. Minis may well be banned here in California as of January.

you should stock up on those evil 10/22s we are trying to ban here. I heard they were specifically designed to kill fluffy white puppies and special needs children.

Yep. I told some folks at the range that .22LR semis are up for banning. No one besides the range officers knew a thing about it.

Unfortunately, most rifle owners in this state don't have a clue what the politiscum in Sacramento is up to. It's a disgrace that so many are so absolutely clueless.

bass pro shop in DFW

I happened to see someone picking one up at Bass Pro Shop when I was there last weekend. SS with synthetic stock. I haven't really been paying attention since I got mine back in December.
I saw one at a big shop in Stockton a few weeks back. NIB Blue, wood, standard 582 for $800 even. No 10/22's though. I would have got it if I hadn't already picked up a barely used (like one box of ammo) Davidsons exclusive SS, brown laminate wood 580. I paid too much, but nowhere near gunbroker prices.
I know OP is probably not from CA but I'm gonna go off on a tangent anyways...

If we ban the mini here that will be the biggest tragedy of all. I had bought my mini about 5 years ago because I didnt want an "evil black rifle". I knew the Bullet Button would eventually be challenged and thought I would be safe buying a Mini-14. Nobody in their right mind would take an American classic like that out of the law abiding communities hands. Welp... looks like I was wrong. The only thing that keeps running thru my head is CA has finally gone "full retard"

Surf City Guns and Ammo has one right now. (Surf City, NC). Wooden stock ranch rifle factory new.
I just picked a 5819 up from Joe Bob Outfitters online. They had some more in stock if you want that model....priced less than MSRP as well.

There were several new ranch models at River City Gun Exchange in Sacramento about a week back. They had a few in wood and the remainder in synthetic.
I am next on the list or a SS mini at my local Big 5. I have waited until January. I also put myself on the list or a 10/22 in SS but I am way down on the list and have little hopes ill get one anytime soon.

Texan, what store did you find yours at? Were you on a wait list?
It was at the Daly City store near Serramonte Mall. I was on the list for a wood stock Ranch Rifle. It took under two months to get it.
Got mine a couple months ago in So Cal at big 5, they haven't gotten one since. Mine was pretty screwed up from the start with the FTE problem and the rear sight way off but after two trips back to the factory I got it back a week ago supposedly fixed. I've been sick since and haven't had it to the range to try it out but I'm optimistic that it will be right.
I have seen lots of Mini's here (Maine) at gun shops in the last month.
Things are looking up with Ruger y'all.

Got a call from Big 5 in Daly City, CA today. They got several Ruger units today including wood stock Minis and 10/22 models. They never took me off the list when my first Mini came in, so I could've gotten another one today. That wouldn't be right though as others have been patiently waiting and I already got the wood stock one I reserved.

I am on the list for a stainless Mini 14 and a stainless 10/22. Looks like the wait may not be as long as I'd expected.

Hey Texan.. is your Big 5 actually displaying them? Ours down here havent been putting out any semi autos on their shelves
ya know, living here in New Hampshire, just 12 miles from Newport, NH where the Mini 14 and various other rifles are made.... really has it's privledges... ordered my ATI Tactical on Feb.2.. was shooting Mar.5... Employee buying power (less that $500) As it was put to me... they run an assembly line of a particular rifle be it 10/22 .. ONE .. whatever... Then change the line for the next run of rifle... MINI 14 etc... So, there are not Mini's being made every day or week.. this is what apparently takes up a large portion of the wait time. But, when they do run a Line.. they run the special orders first, and then the stock orders..

FYI, get this... a LONG time employee (30 plus years) wanted consecutive serial numbered 1911's (which are made in Arizona) One phone call to Ari., they went out to the line, pulled 2 1911's consecutive numbers and shipped them... same day... shooting them here in New Hampshire ---- 5 ---- days after placing the order... seriously.

Goony, get someone on the line to answer a question for me.

Does Ruger cryo treat their barrels for the mini or bolt guns?
