Wood and steel? Heck yeah. That's pretty much all I look for and own. Beginning in March of this year, I began stripping and refinishing all of my long gun stocks in Tru Oil, except for the Enfield because the polymer stock has a much better shape.

OK I have to ask, where would I look to get a wood stock for a newer mini 30 tactical?

I'm a "wood and iron" guy, but love the Ruger synthetic stock due to its LOP and light weight. Still have two others with wood stocks - ORIGINAL wood stocks with the curved butt - but cannot talk down about the synthetic stock: it is wonderful for one who is loosing muscle-mass daily from cancer, where weight becomes more important than looks.
