saw some explosive targets at a local gunshop... i would try em but they dont allow you to use them at the range i go to.

Unfortunately, my range has neighbors 1/2 mile behind the berm, so they don't allow any targets other than paper (Paranoid of ricochets). Takes half the fun out of it! I'm hoping that whoever lives back there is walking around with helmets on. Can you imagine trying to sell a house with pock-marks all over the siding, explaining to potential buyers: "Oh nevermind that. It just rains bullets over here now and again."
I'm sure the range is just being cautious... 1/2 mile is 880 yards - tricky trajectory, but bouncing off a rounded object, I suppose it could make it easily.

I've seen it happen: esp when some yahoo idiot tries emptying a 45 as fast as possiable from the hip, while his two buddies have a lets empty-em race between a ak-47 and a ar-15 (I was on the skeet field behind the berm, listining to the whiners going overhead) This was at a private club in the 'burbs on the 50yd range with a 50 foot berm above the covered target rack.

My local range was redone after a house down the way ended up with a bullet in their kitchen freezer. Whoever did it must have been messing around because the house isnt directly downrange. Do other ranges make FMJ bullets off limits or just mine? Maybe this is a result of this incident....

Oranges make great reactive targets with 22s up to whatever you want to shoot them with!! The bigger the cartridge the farther the pieces fly!! I have 100, 200, 300, 400 yard range where I live. Piss on the neighbors!!! If they don't like the noise
they can move. I was here first and I shoot safe with good backstops. If they want to come over and be neighborly I'll give them lessons for free and show them how much fun it is. They would all probably want to buy an xp-100 with a holosight when they see it blow up 2 liter soda bottles at 200 yards.
