Despite repeated efforts, both computer and telephone, I cannot get a response from Mike in Oregon regarding his "gasport" and trigger offerings. So: Can anyone give me the size of the openings in the inserts that appear to be typically used so I can make my own?

Also, are the Wolff Springs (trigger) standard or reduced tension? They don't say.....

Thanks Guys!!

In "sizing up" to disassemble gas block to install a different gasport I noted the following clearances between the gas block halves with measurment taken at each of the screws. From the "pilots seat", Left rear .012, Left front .018, Right rear .028, Right front .035. As noted on prior comments on subject, since the halves don't touch the distance between them doesn't matter. It appears that the torque to a given value is the important factor. I am using tape for a reference prior to removal to assure the centerline of the gas block is returned to the same location on the barrel. Would be embarrasing to be all ready to set the action for glassing and find the gas block position won't allow the action to be reinstalled in the stock.

Just thoughts on a quiet Sunday.

I just received my gas port kit (and recoil buffer) from Mike this past week. I was going to install it today, according to Mike's directions included in the kit, then a thought occurred to me. Will the muzzlebrake that I have installed have ANY effect on the amount of pressure that is present at the gas port? I cannot see that it would affect it as the gas port comes before the muzzle, but that is just armchair reasoning...anyone have thoughts/experience here?

Hey Billc. The gas port bushing in the lower gas block is what indexes the gas block. If you use a feeler/leaf/gap guage to set the gap even across both sides, and torque the screws evenly tight, but not real tight, and use loctite blue on the screw threads so they won't work loose. Some members have noticed increased accuracy by evening up the gap, and tightning the screws with even pressure.

Hey cbarry Billc is correct. The muzzle brake will make no diff. I had to use the larger of the 3 bushings, as I had jams with the middle one, and the smallest one the mini became a bolt gun. Mike says as my mini loosens up or I use hotter ammo I can drop down a size. Its nice to have different sizes to adjust your mini to your favorite ammo.
