FYI: Made some modifications to the bedding that are trick, reshaped and sized the firing pin, spring loaded the ejector (obviously the one on the trigger group) and resized the extractor but the most noticeable mod was the bolt. Came across a bolt mod that seemed to make good mechanical sense. Made the mod, now my friends want to know how I did it. All it involved was putting a radius on the lower portion of the bolt just below the recoil pin. It moved the point of impact on the hammer up and made the mechanical leverage much more positive. The action is 100% smoother and works exceptionally well with subsonic rounds.

Hmmmm, I had to stare at my bolt, and hammer impact area for a while, but now I see. By reducing the lower part of the bolt this would increase more of the striking force to the upper portion of the bolt to the hammer. Well that mod is an easy one. Thanks new guy for the tip, and thanks Coyote for the most excellent picture.

Coyote, that's the one. There are also some pics and a write-up showing the difference in the bolt to hammer contact points before and after the mod. I could not see any advantage in putting a radius on the hammer like one article showed. It would not come into play and would be for looks only. The one thing I did to the hammer was smooth the face with an Arkansas stone so it's like glass. Cajungeo, try this mod, you should like it alot.

Cajungeo, if you change the mechanical leverage for cocking the hammer by radiusing the rear bottom of the bolt, you will be amazed at how much easier the bolt will retract. You won't be able to appreciate how well this works until you try it. But if you are satisfied with what you have now, then that's what matters. :)
