Fitting an old factory stock to a new 583 mini.

I thought this would be a drop in affair but it isn't. I had to open up the sides of the stock to get the new action in and now the action wont pull down flush in the rear. There is a noticeable gap between the receiver and the top rear of the stock. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks Dave

Dave, can't say that I have. Dropped a 583 Tactical into a Choate (wood) folder that came with my 181GB in 1980. Fit like it was made for it! And as an added bonus, my 181GB dropped right into the factory synthetic my 583 came in.
