As a firearm owner and operator, I feel that my responsibilities lie in more than just safely firing, and storing my weapon, but also in promoting safe shooting amongst others and promoting awareness. I feel there should be less emphasis on gun control and more emphasis on educating children about firearms and how to use them properly.

This petition is directed towards the Assault Weapons Ban. I think this ban should be lifted as the trends show that more firearms purchases actually lead to fewer crimes.

Remember, if a violent crime is to be committed, such as murder, what would stop the person, who is already going to commit murder, from finding an illegal firearm anyways?

Here is some food for thought, and remember, if you are Pro Gun Control, you're in good company with Joseph Stalin, Adolph Hitler, Pol Pot...

M. 64,999,987 firearms owners killed no one yesterday.
N. Guns only have two enemies: rust and liberals.
O. Know guns, know peace and safety. No guns, no peace nor safety.
P. You don't shoot to kill; you shoot to stay alive.
Q. 911 - government sponsored Dial-a-Prayer.
R. Assault is a behavior, not a device.
S. Criminals love gun control - it makes their jobs safer.

o: President Bush, Federal Appeals Court, Members of Congress

With the June 26, 2002 federal appeals court decision to rule that reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools is unconstitutional due to the words "under God" in the pledge, we the undersigned, petition against the decision.

The words "under God" were inserted by Congress in 1954 and are a part of America. Reciting the pledge in schools is an act of pride, freedom and patriotism. Wouldn't banning the pledge be a violation against our freedom of speech?

"God Bless America" has become our theme song since 9-11. "In God We Trust" is printed on our currency. The Supreme Court begins its daily sessions with "God save the United States and this honorable court." Congress begins each day with a prayer and judges are sworn into office reciting "So help me God."

America the Beautiful, the Star Spangled Banner and the Declaration of Independence all have the word "God" in them. Prohibiting the pledge in schools would mean changing all the songs, the words on currency and, America as we know it-the land of freedom.

Recently a federal appeals court ruled that Ohio's state motto "With God, all things are possible" was constitutional. How can that be considered constitutional and the Pledge of Allegiance in schools not? No child is forced to recite the pledge in schools, giving them the right to freedom of religion.

We ask that the Pledge of Allegiance be left in public schools and recited with the words "under God" as a part of the pledge.
