I have a few 30 Round Federal Ordinance brand magazines. I do not see any pictures or mention of this brand on the board. Does anyone know about the quality of these magazines?
The gunlore holds that these are the same as PMI magazines. I have some used PMI mags that have no markings. Others have said that their mags were unmarked but the plastic wrappers had markings.
Find some PMI pictures and compare your mags.

Welcome to the forum Silver. You can go to our magazine gallery, and compare your mags to precision (Precision Mag. Industrys).
More importantly, do they work for you?
Well thank you. I just compared one of my magazines to the magazine pictures on this website. They are the same as the PMIs. I wasn't sure until I saw the close up pictures. I really appreciate the info on this site. Too bad it's hard to find!
As to the most practical - question - do they work for me? Yes they did. However, I have not used them for many years. Just not enough time. When I do shoot these days, It's usually my 10-22 T or my Marlin Lever action. My issue with the Mini 14 is something that is discussed in detail on this board - accuracy!
I suspect I will spend more time in the long run in the 10-22 section of this website, but in any case, this is a really great website with really kind intelligent helpful folks who appreciate everyones interest in shooting. Again - Thank you.
Don't know if anyone else has both, but the Fed Ord definitely ain't PMI quality. Don't get me wrong, my fed ord 20's are reliable, but the PMI 20's have thicker and better formed feed lips. They also seem to lock up a little tighter.
The fed ords are good stuff, but my PMI's are as good or better than factory.
I have both also 20,30,40,and see no difference. Sheet steels the same thickness the locking tab on the back the same. Spotwelds on the magazines are in the same location. I'm sure the ones I own were made on the same tooling. The plastic shipping bags are the same the address is the same, 1911 E 51st St. Los Angeles. CA. 90058. only the names are different. Most of mine are mid to late 80's inventories. I do have some oddball mini mags old Ramline straight 25rnd and 2 of the old LL Baston 30rnd. steel mags that are similar to PMI's but have smaller holes in the mag sides and nice polished blued finish not a black phos. finish like PMI and F.O.
rezman maybe yours are real early production or something made on different tooling. But the ones I have are no doubt the same. I can't see a difference. I have seen some different used mags for the Mini over the years at gun shows though. Thats where I picked up the old straight heavy 25rnd Ramline mag. Also the company that sold the Falcon folding stock that was made the same as a factory Ruger folder sold magazines.
